DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Sooo.. did anyone else get in trouble yesterday because you forgot it was mothers day?
Nope.
But then again, my B/D lands smack on the same day every so often (and therefore gets overshadowed by it), so I'm generally aware of when it rolls around.

Those are some nasty key signatures, that's for sure. As for the piece in C-Sharp, it would have been easier to play it in D-flat, don't you think?
Oddly, that one was a "bit" easier then the others as it was simply a matter of: every note you see - play it sharp. With the 5 and 6 flat keys, you had to remember the specifics.

Makes me want to pull out my old trombone and re-learn how to play it again just so I can do pit work.
That's the horn my young'en majored on (quite good at it too). Y'all are the only folks other then the flutes that are actually playing in the key the chart is written in (and the only horn on the stage that should never be out of tune). They're usually holding down the counter melody so the parts or often very interesting. I enjoyed the times when there wasn't a specific part for the low reeds and we were reading their ques instead. Yeah, you ought to brush up on it as another way to be involved if there isn't a part that suites you at the time.

Man, they don’t call you Stats for nothing! 😏

Oh, well happy birthday.

Well, I don't know how that converts in Canada. The metric system always throws me off.
Sometimes it does that to me too. We converted to metric only after I got used to imperial.

I measure in inches, feet and yards. But drive in kilometres. I have no idea how many kilograms I weigh but know I weigh (too many) pounds. A coke bottle is around 500ml… but no idea how many ounces. I use tsp and tbsp and cups… and almost never ml.

I just realized I’m illiterate in two weights and measurements systems…

Good afternoon, men. I'm about 2 months out from our WDW trip. Doing a split stay at BWV and BLT (7/20-7/27). I miss our Fall trips. FL in Nov vs FL in July/Aug is VERY different.😰 I'm trying to NOT wish away summer but I can't wait for our trip to get here. Doing a week long trip after doing a few 10 day trips. That surplus of covid points ran out after a couple 2BR villas for 10 days!

As far as my weight goes, I try to set the scale in kg but read it as though it's in pounds.

Ive been busy around the house this week. The wife went back to Pa. for the week for work. It was our last week of “slow” time at my work. I gave away my shift and just took a week to get things done around the house.
We also had some non Florida weather this past Tuesday. lol.
Yes, that is ice!! We had a pretty good hail storm. It went from 96 degrees to 72 degrees in about ten minutes.

Curious to know how long it took before it melted?

Also got a lot of work done. Power washed the entire house. Replaced two ceiling fans out by the pool along with a 15 item punch list I just haven’t gotten around to the last three years.
The handyman is coming tomorrow to put some anchors in the base of our pool enclosure. It’s starting that time of year around here. He also going to clean out the gutters. It takes him ten minutes.
I pick the other half up from the airport on Sunday, vacation is over. lol.
Back to work for me Monday afternoon. ( boooooooo)

Curious to know how long it took before it melted?
About a half hour. A lot of people lost screen sections on their pool enclosure because of the weight of the ice. I was soaked but I went out with a hose and started knocking the ice off with water. We got about 31/2 to 4 inches of rain in about a half an hour, you know, a regular summer rain storm in Florida. lol.
We are built for the rain and wind, we aren’t built for ice.

So my wife mentioned before she left that the back of one of the sections of our two year old, 5k, leather sectional was loose. You know, the one that has been sat on about a dozen times. I opened it up and this is what I find. Can you see the difference? Furniture company won’t respond to any communication. I fixed it myself. Some pine, wood glue and a half a dozen screw and it’s better than new. I was less than pleased.
Well there was two pictures, don’t know what happened to the other one. lol. See below.
